KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Travis Kelce became the first tight end in NFL history to have a fifth 1,000-yard season on Sunday night in the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos.
Kelce, 31, was tied at four 1,000-yard receiving seasons with Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski and Jason Witten.
Kelce caught a 19-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter to go over 1,000 yards for the season. This is his fifth consecutive season with at least 1,000 receiving yards.
The Chiefs inked Kelce to a four-year, $57.25 million contract extension with $28 million guaranteed before the season.
