VIXX’s Ravi seems to have found himself in some really deep trouble. After being investigated for evading military service, the prosecutors have demanded that the K-pop star serve two years in prison for the same. Here’s looking at why he chose to resort to the same in the first place.

Ravi held on trial for evading military service

On April 11, the Seoul Southern District Court held trials for both Ravi and rapper Nafla, with both of them accused of violating the Military Service Act. The prosecutors demanded that the court sentence both celebrities to two years and two years and six months in prison, respectively.

For those of you who may not be aware, Ravi was seemingly known to have forged his medical history, stating that he suffered from epilepsy in order to evade military service. Nafla on the other hand is alleged to have lied about his depression to receive civil duties during his time in the military.

Addressing the same, Ravi finally addressed why he did what he did, stating, “At the time, I was the only artist bringing in revenue (for the label), and we were in danger of having to pay large fees for violating contracts due to COVID-19. I apologize to those faithfully serving the military and to epilepsy patients and their families who were hurt by me.”

As of now, the court has decided to sentence the K-pop star on a later day. While the verdict will be coming out soon, Jellyfish Entertainment has since confirmed that Ravi will not be a part of VIXX anymore.
