K-pop songs to listen to in distressing times
Kyungsoo #Kyungsoo
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 27) – This year was definitely a roller coaster ride for everyone, as it led us to feel stressed, worried, and anxious of what is happening and what lies ahead.
Unfortunately, we cannot afford right now to find comfort in the warm hugs of our friends or even a shoulder to cry on when things are getting overwhelming.

In the absence of a human comfort, our advice now is to listen to these K-Pop songs to remind us that it’s okay not to be okay and everything will be alright.
That’s Okay – D.O. of EXO
Do Kyungsoo or D.O. of popular boy group EXO tells us that it’s okay to feel certain emotions and things shall pass.
“So don’t hide yourself, will you show me you? Be comfortable with the way you are. That’s right, it’s okay to be okay.”
You Never Know – Blackpink
In this song, popular girl group Blackpink sends us a message to be nice to everyone as we don’t know what they are going through.
“But you’ll never know unless you walk in my shoes. You’ll never know. ‘Cause everybody sees what ‘they wanna see. It’s easier to judge me than to believe.”
Breathe – Lee Hi
When things seemed to be discouraging, Lee Hi wants us to breathe and tell us that our mistakes don’t define us.
“Though I can’t understand your breath. It’s alright I’ll hold you. You really did a good job.”
Where the Sea Sleeps – Day6
Even though we are just interacting virtually right now, this song by Korean band Day6 tells us that we will survive and can still help one another in these most challenging times.
“Even in the darkest hours, hold on to my hand. We may stumble or topple. But once everything passes, the warmth we meet will be sweetest of all.”
Life Goes On – BTS
This latest track by the Grammy-nominated boy group brings us hope that “Life Goes On” no matter what we are facing.
“Like an echo in the forest. The day will come back around. As if nothing happened.Yeah, life goes on.”
With only a month left before the year ends, let us be proud of ourselves for making it this far. Surviving the past 10 months might be an exhausting journey for many, but here you are alive and breathing.
Whatever the remaining days of 2020 might bring, remember that we will be okay.
