Jurgen Klopp on Adrian Return
Adrian #Adrian
Goalkeeper Adrian makes his first Liverpool start since October, deputising for Alisson.
Caoimhin Kelleher is currently sidelined through injury whilst the Brazilian is absent on compassionate grounds.
The former-West Ham shot-stopper joined the Reds in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer and has acted as cover for Alisson.
However, this season has saw a shift in the goalkeeping pecking order for Liverpool as Irishman Kelleher overtook the Spaniard to become number two after a run of questionable appearances for the 34-year-old goalkeeper.
Whilst the 22-year-old continues his recovery adding to the champions injury woes, he is expected to return in the next week.
Adrian was between the sticks during Liverpool’s 7-2 demolition to the hands of Aston Villa and then for the 2-2 draw with rivals Everton at Goodison.
Speaking before kick-off the 53-year-old German said: “[He is] as ready as possible, he is a top professional. When we changed the situation slightly and Caoimhin became number two, he took it like a professional.
“He always trains at the highest standard so no problem about that, he will be fine.”
