Journalist shares what Pape Sarr told him about his fitness before West Ham game

Sarr #Sarr

Tottenham have an injury crisis on their hands right now.

The north London club are struggling in terms of fitness with their key players at the moment, but a few are now, slowly but surely, starting to return.

Pape Matar Sarr came back against West Ham as a late substitute, but, by the sounds of it, the midfielder isn’t to confident about his fitness just yet.

Speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, club journalist, Paul Miles, has been discussing Sarr’s fitness, and he says that he shared his doubts about his own fitness ahead of the West Ham game.

Miles shared what Sarr told him about his fitness.

“Yeah, Pape Sarr is not quite ready to start yet. I saw him this week and he was all smiles and I said ‘West Ham?’ and he said ‘oh I’m not sure’,” Miles said.

Need him back soon

Sarr may not feel ready to return to action just yet but Tottenham do need to get him back in the mix as soon as possible.

It’s no coincidence that Spurs haven’t won a game since Sarr went down injured. The Senegalese midfielder is a very important player to this Spurs team, and they’re not the same side without him.

Of course, you don’t want to rush any player back before they are ready, but, at the same time, you do need to get your best players on the pitch as soon as possible, especially when you’re in the midst of a squad depth crisis.

Sarr did play for a few minutes against West Ham, which is a good sign, and we can only hope that he’s ready to start against Newcastle at the weekend.
