CHICAGO — Josh Naylor got a shot at redemption and delivered in the 10th inning for the Guardians on Sunday, driving in the go-ahead runs with a base hit to give Cleveland an 8-6 victory against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The Guardians overcame a late-inning collapse by closer Emmanuel Clase, who couldn’t hold a four-run lead in the ninth inning. But Naylor’s third hit of the day, a two-run single off Cubs reliever Adbert Alzolay with one out in the 10th, drove in Andrés Giménez and Amed Rosario before Sam Hentges shut down the bottom of Chicago’s lineup and was credited with his first win.
