Joseph John Wallo, Olyphant, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, in Green Ridge Health Care Center. His wife, Sophie, passed away in 2019.

Born in Jessup, son of the late George and Helen Goral Wallo, he was a graduate of Lackawanna College with a degree in accounting. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish and American Legion Post 665, VFW Post 5937, Governor’s Club of Peckville, Dickson City Veterans Honor Guard, and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years with the rank of master sergeant. He was employed at the Clarks Summit State Hospital before retirement.

Surviving are his children, Patricia and husband, Frank Jaskulski, Dickson City; Joseph John Jr. and wife, Mary Colleen, Jessup; Robert and wife, Anne, Sterling; and Mark and wife, Laura, Dickson City; grandchildren, CJ Jaskulski and wife, Tiffany; Paul Jaskulski; Joseph John III; Kristen and Alyssa Wallo; and John Sears and wife, Francesca; great-grandchildren, Frankie and Julia Jaskulski, Benjamin Foster, Jazmyn Wallo, Calla and Benjamin Sears; sister, Helen Oravec, Peckville; and brothers, Edward, Pottstown, and John, Dickson City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Tyminski; a brother, George; brother-in-law, Ambrose Oravec; and sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Wallo and Marie Wallo.

A funeral Mass will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Street, Olyphant. Full military honors by the Dickson City Veterans Honor Guard. Entombment, St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City. A visitation will take place for the immediate family in the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, from 9 until 9:45.

For those attending the services, please follow all CDC guidelines when coming to the funeral home and church. Those attending the Mass are asked to proceed directly to church. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant.
