New Delhi: India started day 3 of the third Test positively as they picked up three quick wickets in the first session. Joe Root was the first to go after a bizarre reverse sweep that went straight to Yashasvi Jaiswal at the slips. Root departed for 18 (31) in the 40th over.
Jonny Bairstow was the next one to depart as he registered a four-ball duck. On the 4th ball of the 41st over, Jonny failed to read Kuldeep Yadav’s spin and was trapped in front of the wicket.
With the duck, the 34-year-old scripted an unwanted record. He went past Pakistan’s Danish Kaneria to register the most ducks in Test cricket against India. It was Bairstow’s eighth duck against the Rohit Sharma-led side in red-ball cricket.
Here is the list of players with the most ducks against India.
