It has come to the internet’s attention that John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are possibly dating. People has connected the two through an anonymous source, who said, “This is very new, they’re taking it slowly. They met at church in Los Angeles.”
The story comes on the heels of Monday’s news that Mulaney and his wife, Anna Marie Tendler, are divorcing. “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage,” Tendler told People in a statement. “I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”
Back in December, when news broke that Mulaney had checked himself into a rehab, Munn tweeted her own support:
Besides apparently attending the same church, they are both dog owners (whatever will happen with Petunia?), and they share at least some ties to Catholicism. Mulaney was raised Catholic—it provides a lot of material for the stand-up—and Munn watched an exorcism once. She also attended the “Catholic Imagination” Met Gala in 2018 wearing chain mail inspired by the crusades.
Mulaney recently did a stand-up set at City Winery in New York while 141 days sober. Jesse David Fox attended and wrote about it for Vulture recounting jokes about rehab, about a GQ interview he doesn’t remember doing, about the intervention his friends staged for him.
Munn’s representative has not yet responded to Vanity Fair’s request for comment. Mulaney’s representative told Page Six, “John will not have any further comment as he continues to focus on his recovery and getting back to work.”
