FLINT – For the first time in almost five months, Joey Spencer is getting ready to climb back into the boxing ring.
The rising middleweight from Linden announced on Facebook and Twitter that he’ll be fighting Jan. 30 on the undercard of the Caleb Plant-Caleb Truax bout at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles.
His opponent has yet to be determined.
The fight will be telecast live on Fox.
The 20-year-old Spencer (11-0-0, 8 KOs) last fought Aug. 22, when he knocked out Shawn West (5-2-0, 3 KOs) in the fourth round of a bout that was scheduled for six rounds.
Spencer was an 11-time national amateur champion before turning pro almost three years ago.
