The Boston Celtics lost Game 1 to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
On Monday evening, the Boston Celtics hosted the Philadelphia 76ers in Massachusetts for Game 1 of their second-round playoff series.
In addition to having the game on their home floor, the 76ers were playing without superstar center Joel Embiid.
Therefore, the 119-115 loss was a surprise, and the Celtics now trail 1-0 in the series.
After the game, head coach Joe Mazzulla spoke to Abby Chin of Celtics on NBC Sports Boston and was honest in his evaluation of the game.
Chin: “What was your message in the locker room?”
Mazzulla: “I didn’t put them in position to win the game, so be better and will be better.”
James Harden led the 76ers with 45 points, and he hit a three-pointer with 8.4 seconds left to give them a 117-115 lead.
