Jill Scott Steps Up To The Mic For J.ill the Podcast

Jill Scott is releasing a new podcast with iHeartMedia. Jill Scott Presents: J.ill the Podcast, will premiere on November 18. 

The Grammy Award-winning singer and poet expressed her ambitions for the project in a statement. “J.ill the Podcast will spark unfiltered conversations by and for Black women who influence culture and uplift sisterhood,” said Scott.

“2020 has been a challenging year for our community, and our hope is that this show will continue to keep our love village connected, entertained and empowered,” said the singer and actress. “These are valuable discussions about how we’re feeling and what’s happening in the world today.”

She later announced the news directly to her fans on her Instagram page. “Love Village, I want to introduce you to my latest project, Jill Scott presents J.Ill, a podcast in partnership with iHeartMedia. With my sister-friends @laiyasworld and @kindredthewife, we will have no-holds-barred conversations on topics around relationships, culture, health, art and everything else that comes with surviving and thriving as a Black woman in today’s world,” she said. 

“Join me on November 18th and every Wednesday following for a dose of kitchen-table conversations,” she added. The show will take on a talk show format. Scott’s co-hosts include her close “sister-friends” Laiya St. Clair and Aja Graydon-Dantzler. The trio is expected to bring their personal perspectives as Black wives, mothers, friends, business partners, sisters and daughters, to a variety of topics including romance, creativity, cultural touchstones and career issues. 

St. Clair has been a staple in the radio industry for years. She worked her way from working in promotions to becoming the headliner of her own morning show. She is also the producer and co-host of the Questlove Supreme and Love+Grit podcasts. Graydon-Dantzler is a BET and Soul Train Award-nominated singer-songwriter who has worked with Scott, India.Arie, The Roots and Snoop Dogg. She is one-half of the married musical duo Kindred The Family Soul. 

New episodes of Jill Scott Presents: J.ill the Podcast will be released every Wednesday.
