Jets’ Woody Johnson, Mekhi Becton react to news of full capacity at MetLife Stadium

© Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports The Jets’ owner has been all over Twitter hyping up the team’s new coaches and players and he sounds excited about Gang Green’s future after returning from a four-year hiatus as the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom. It’s unclear what role Johnson played in the Jets’ free agent acquisitions or how he’ll contribute to Douglas’ draft strategy, but it appears as though he’s leaving the roster construction up to his GM.

Jets owner Woody Johnson has been pretty active on social media since returning to the United States, tweeting something every time there’s a major development in the NFL or with his team.

So when news broke that MetLife Stadium will open at 100 percent capacity after a year without fans, Johnson went to Twitter to share his thoughts with a simple two-photo tweet:

The Jets – and most of the NFL – played without fans in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But on Monday, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy felt the state of the pandemic was good enough to allow venues to open fully and let fans watch their favorite teams play.

Another member of the Jets organization, tackle Mekhi Becton, is equally excited for the return of fans.

Becton didn’t play in front of any fans during his rookie season and is likely eager to have a roaring crowd cheering behind him.
