Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah: What they’re saying about the new Browns linebacker

Browns #Browns

CLEVELAND, Ohio – If you were surprised highly-touted Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah of Notre Dame fell to the 52nd pick of the draft where the Browns took him Friday, well, you’re not alone.

That was basically the reaction on Twitter after the selection was made. JOK was expected by most to be a first-round pick and was often connected to the Browns with the 26th overall pick in mock drafts.

He still ended up in Cleveland, though. Here’s some reaction from Twitter:

Mack Wilson Sr.: Welcome to the Land JOK!! Let’s work!! #LBEAST!

Seth Walder: Now that is a trade up you can absolutely justify — and then some. Browns paid just a 5% premium for pick No. 52 in trade with the Panthers (Carolina gained equivalent of an extra 7th-rounder) for a player that was widely expected to be a first-rounder.

PFF: The #Browns incredible roster building continues w/ Notre Dame LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

Mike Renner: The Browns come away with two top-20 players on the @PFF draft board for the second straight year

Lance Zierlein: Within the next few years, as with D.K. Metcalf, there will be several teams who look back with regret for allowing Jeremiah Owusu-Karamoah to get past them. And I’ll put that on my momma. I’ll save you the tweet now – @OldTakesExposed

Andrew Siciliano: J.O.K. pick takes attention away, thankfully, from the Indians atrocious defense.

Marc Sessler: Andrew Berry is a GOD.

Dan Orlovsky: The @Browns are a freaking problem with this new regime man.

Chris Simms: Way to go @Browns. Shocked JOK fell this far but he is the perfect scheme fit for that defense, can be their Kam Chancellor.

Laurie Horesh: No idea the reason for JOK’s slide, but that’s an awesome addition for the Browns. Reads + reacts in an instant, separates ball from ball-carrier, better player and instincts than oft-mentioned Jabrill Peppers. Can blitz and can cover the slot comfortably. Explosive pick.
