Jayson Tatum’s scintillating performance in Wednesday’s game vs. the Miami Heat capped off a historic November for the Boston Celtics superstar.
Tatum notched his ninth game of the month with 30 or more points, tying for his most 30-point performances in a calendar month in his career. According to ESPN Stats & Info, only the legendary Larry Bird has more 30-point games in a calendar month in Celtics history (10 in March 1986, 11 in March 1988).
Prince William, Princess Kate make special appearance at Celtics-Heat
Tatum finished with a season-high 49 points (15-25 FG, 8-12 3-PT) while adding 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals. It marked his 14th career regular-season game with 40 or more points.
The 24-year-old entered Wednesday night with the third-best odds to win the 2022-23 NBA MVP award. If he keeps up anything close to this pace, he could overtake Luke Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo to become the favorite sooner rather than later.
Tatum and the C’s will look to duplicate the showing when they host the Heat again on Friday night.
