Jay Park welcomes GOT7 maknae Kim Yugyeom to the AOMG fam

AOMG, after a couple of mysterious teasers, finally reveals that the youngest member of Got7, Yugyeom, has officially signed with them.

GOT7 maknae Kim Yugyeom has officially joined South Korean hip-hop and R&B label, Above Ordinary Music Group (AOMG) founded by rapper Jay Park. After Got7’s announcement of their departure from JYP Entertainment in January 2021, rumours arose about Yugyeom’s talks to sign with AOMG. After a long period of silence, it was confirmed today that the artist would begin his solo career with them. Yugyeom is the main dancer, sub vocalist and maknae of GOT7 as well as the leader of the subunit Jus2.

On February 18, AOMG released a promotional video captioned “Coming Up Next AOMG” that takes a lower shot of Yugyeom, forming a silhouette. It aimed at making the viewers wonder about the identity of the new artist which seemed to fail in the case of Got7 fandom members. The announcement was accompanied by a performance clip of Yugyeom dancing  to Travis Scott’s ‘Franchise’ featuring Young Thug and M.I.A. Following this, Jay Park posted a video with Yugyeom welcoming him to the family. “He said I inspired him to become an artist… I said let me help you become one.”
