Janey Godley has told fans her cancer treatment will be resuming, after getting the all clear back in June.
The comedian took to Twitter today (December 13) to inform her followers of the situation, with recent tests showing signs of disease in her abdomen. Despite the diagnosis, she’s said her upcoming Not Dead Yet Tour will go ahead.
Travelling across Scotland with some dates in London, the tour is set to kick off in February. While Janey is confident the dates will go ahead, she’s also added that it ‘might be the last time’ she performs live on stage.
In the video posted on Twitter, she said: “My recent scan and my blood tests showed that my cancer marker went up.
“There’s still a bit of disease in my abdomen. So I want you all to know that I’ll be going through some more chemotherapy.

“I also want you to know that I’m going ahead with the tour in February and March. I am determined to get back on stage.
“I’m looking forward to the tour, I think it’s fair and honest to say it might be the last time you see me live on stage. I’m hoping it’s not, but I think it’s a fair estimation.”
Fans were quick to respond to the video, with Scottish actor Sean Biggerstaff posting: “Really courageous, Janey.
“Fingers crossed for the best possible outcome, and best of luck for the tour.”
Bryan Weakland commented: “Love you Janey. Sending a big hug.
“I can’t wait to see you on tour in London in March. Keep your head up high and keep laughing.”
The Glasgow comedy star was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2021, and has since undergone chemotherapy treatment and a hysterectomy procedure. She posted a video in June telling fans: “I’ve just had a phone call from the cancer specialist and the scan has come back clear.”
Tickets for several of the dates are still left, which you can book here.
