Jamie Carragher left with egg on face as comments on Chelsea’s Kepa massively backfire
Kepa #Kepa
“With [Edouard] Mendy being so good for Chelsea, we’re thinking his [Kepa] time is over, he’s shown great desire when he got into the team to make sure he wouldn’t make similar mistakes.
“He had the argument with [Maurizio] Sarri, now he’s got a newfound focus, this Chelsea side now he’s number one, Mendy will be disappointed because the season before last people were asking why he’s not in the team of the year. But right now, in terms of form, Kepa’s doing nothing wrong.”
Carragher backtracked on his pre-match comments at half-time. “I didn’t think Chelsea could win the league with him in goal, this is definitely the best I’ve seen him play in a Chelsea shirt,” Carragher said. “He’s kept Chelsea in the game, I actually think the save from point-blank range is the best one. He’s been outstanding.”
