Jack Grealish stuck to the promise he made to a young Manchester City and England fan, pulling off the goal celebration he said he would do in the Three Lions’ rampant World Cup win over Iran.

Grealish came off the bench in the second half and scored England’s final goal in an amazing 6-2 victory over the Iranians, tapping home after unselfish play from fellow substitute Callum Wilson.

The £100m man broke into a dance, spreading his arms wide and wiggling them about, something which he had promised to young Finlay who considers the Manchester City star his hero.

The 11-year-old has cerebal palsy, a condition which Grealish’s sister Holly also suffers with and Finlay has loved seeing how loving and supportive Jack is with his younger sister.

Finlay wrote to Grealish telling him his story and the now World Cup goal-scorer wrote back and then went to see his super-fan.

Having promised Finlay that he would do a goal celebration of his choice when he next scored, the request came in for the worm, but Grealish didn’t fancy his chances.

Instead he agreed to do the wiggly-arm dance, something which he remembered when he found the back of the net in Qatar.

‘I just want to say a bit thank you for the letter that you wrote to me, it really touched me,’ Jack told Finlay. ‘I’ll do a little celebration for you, alright?’

He may not have thought that it would be a World Cup goal for England. What a moment.
