Ja Morant, Luke Kennard out against the New Orleans Pelicans
Pelicans #Pelicans
The Memphis Grizzlies have a two-game cushion for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, so it makes sense that some key contributors could be out on the second night of a back-to-back.
Ja Morant (left hip soreness) and Luke Kennard (right ankle soreness) are both out for Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Both players started and played more than 30 minutes in Tuesday’s win against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Xavier Tillman Sr. was listed as questionable, but he has also been downgraded to out. Tillman started on Tuesday but fell out of the rotation in the second half.
Dillon Brooks missed Tuesday’s game, but he’s not listed on the injury report for Wednesday. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. also topped 30 minutes on Tuesday, but both are expected to play.
Tyus Jones is likely to fill in as the starting point guard. The Grizzlies are 13-8 this season when Jones starts at point guard.
This is the final back-to-back the Grizzlies have scheduled this season. Memphis is 6-5 this season on the second night of back-to-backs.
