Ja Morant has a little sister who plays great basketball, meet Niya Morant and her skills

Ja Morant’s parents are Tee and Jamie Morant, they both played basketball in college and were pretty good at it. That’s where the Memphis Grizzlies super star gets his talent from but the gene pool was extended to his little sister. Her name is Teniya Morant but everybody knows her as Niya. She is a 5 feet, 7 inches point guard who currently plays for Houston High School in Germantown. Niya arrived at this squad from Hillcrest Middle School in Dalzell. The point guard gene are the ones that specifically got through to her as she dominates defensive players at 18 years old.

Her basketball career has been highlighted repeatedly on social media and there is even video of her playing while brother Ja watches from the stands. He celebrates every single moment Niya does something great. In terms of her style of play, she is still relatively short but she never lets that dictate her game. Niya still goes through any defense and scores from various parts of the paint. She is also quite the sharp shooter from a long distance. It should be interesting to see if she can emulate her brother and follow the same footsteps.

Niya Morant can be considered an agile and quick point guard who could be eligible to play in the WNBA someday. She is part of the 2023 class, which means she is about to graduate and she has to make a decision about her future. Her parents and her brother obviously want her to lead a normal college life while still playing basketball. Chances are she will end up playing throughout her entire tenure in college and then make a decision about the WNBA. Going pro is definitely one of her options but we’ll have to wait and see if she grows a little taller and does well playing college ball.
