With eight games on Monday, what was the best storyline? Was it James Harden making his return from a 14-game absence? Was it the Rockets spoiling his return by beating the former face of their franchise? Was it Dallas dominating the Suns in another rematch from the playoffs? Nope, it was Andrew Nembhard. The second round pick from last season’s draft is one of a handful of players that deserve to be rostered in more leagues. Here are the rest of them:
Andrew Nembhard- 35% rostered in Yahoo! leagues
It’s hard to put into words how impressive Nembhard was against the defending champions on Monday. The second round pick finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, 13 assists and five triples against Stephen Curry, who had his worst game of the season. He has benefitted from Tyrese Haliburton’s absence, but he should still have value after Haliburton is back in the lineup. If Hali misses their game in Minnesota on Wednesday, Nembhard could be in for another big night.
Josh Okogie- less than 1%
Okogie has been an afterthought in fantasy hoops despite his defensive ability throughout his career. That’s because he can’t stay on the floor with how much of a liability he has been offensively. However, he has averaged 27 minutes per game over their last two games, while averaging 2.5 steals per game. He had 11 rebounds and six assists in their last game, and he hit two triples in this game. If he can maintain this role, he’ll be worth keeping around long term.
A.J. Griffin- 30%
With De’Andre Hunter out at least one more game, Griffin should get another start on Wednesday in New York. Even in the worst shooting night of his young career, Griffin was still able to contribute three triples and three steals. He has posted fifth round numbers over the last week, which is excellent value for a guy that is available in 70% of leagues.
Story continues
Jalen Johnson- 12%
John Collins is set to miss at least another week, which means Johnson should see at least 4-5 more starts. He hasn’t been an elite asset by any means, but he’s worth a look based simply off the opportunity he has. He has averaged 8.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in his two starts.

Moritz Wagner- 7%
With Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. out once again, Wagner got another start. He had 19 points, 12 rebounds and four assists before fouling out of this game. As long as Bamba and WCJ are out of the lineup, Wagner will be safe to start.
Tari Eason- 21%
Eason’s fantasy potential has always been there, and we got to see it flashed once again during Monday’s win over the 76ers. He finished with 18 points, six rebounds, three steals, one block and two triples off the bench. His role this season has been inconsistent, but Stephen Silas hinted at a larger role for him in his postgame press conference. When that happens, it’ll be too late to pick him up.
Tyus Jones- 28%
Per usual, when Ja Morant is out of the lineup, Jones excels. He finished with 28 points, five rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and three triples with Morant sidelined due to left ankle soreness. There’s a decent chance that Morant returns in their next game, which would make Jones a player to be left on the waiver wire. However, if he misses another, Jones should be streamed in every league.
