Is Walmart closed on Thanksgiving? Store hours

It has been a trend in recent years for stores to open on Thanksgiving. Coronavirus changed all that this year, however, and more are opting to give employees the day off.
Walmart – the nation’s largest retailer – has opted to close on Thanksgiving 2020. Stores will close at 11 p.m. Wednesday night and reopen for Black Friday (Nov. 27) at 5 a.m.
“This year we have decided to close our stores on Thanksgiving Day – November 26,” Walmart President and CEO John Furner announced in a July 21 memo to employees. “We know it’s been a trying year, and you’ve stepped up. We want you to enjoy the day at home with your loved ones.”
While Walmart stores are closed, there are still deals to be had. Walmart’s online deals begin Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. New deals will then be available online starting Nov. 27 at 12 a.m. ET and in-stores at 5 a.m. Deals will include bargains on electronics, toys, apparel, home and seasonal décor.
Once Walmart stores reopen on Black Friday there will be several safety measures in place.
Customers will be asked to form a single, straight line to enter the store and the number allowed inside will be limited. Associates will provide customers with sanitized shopping carts and assist with social distancing. Customers will be directed to shop along the right-hand side of the aisles to easily and safely select their favorite Black Friday items.
