Manchester United are set to take on Sevilla on Thursday in the second leg of their quarter-final clash in the Europa League.

United will be looking to make amends for their collapse in the first leg at Old Trafford, which saw the Red Devils throw away a 2-0 lead before drawing the game 2-2 thanks to two late own goals.

Erik ten Hag’s men had gone ahead earlier in the first half thanks to a brace from Marcel Sabitzer, before conceding two own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire in the final stages of the game.

United will, however, be in high spirits going into the match following their impressive win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League over the weekend. Opponents Sevilla have been struggling in La Liga this season, sitting 13th despite beating Valencia 2-0 on Sunday.

Sevilla will be without the suspended Gonzalo Montiel for tonight’s fixture The right-back picked up a yellow card during the first leg tie between the two sides at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, United’s injury problems continue to plague them with both Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez remaining sidelined. The influential Bruno Fernandes will be forced to watch on from the sidelines after the Portuguese playmaker picked up a yellow card in the first leg.

However Ten Hag’s men could receive a boost with the potential return of club top goal scorer Marcus Rashford. The 25-year-old was spotted in training on Wednesday alongside Luke Shaw, Sabitzer and Tyrell Malacia who could all return to the match-day squad after missing out on the Red Devils’ win against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Sevilla’s Jose Luis Mendilibar said: “If I have to be honest, it’s not an easy game tomorrow.

“It’s going to be a tough game. For me, we are tied 50-50. It’s true that the fans will help us but on the pitch it’s going to be 11 v 11 players.

“They played so many times in this competition, quarter-finals, so seriously I don’t think it’s going to be an easy game and that’s what the players are thinking now.”

Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag said: “We go from game to game, we took one step in the Premier League and now we have to focus on the next game and we have to bring another performance.

“Now we know how we have to come back. We made mistakes and we can’t make them and now we go to Seville and have to do a great performance to win there.”
