GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A passenger in Patrick Lyoya’s car who took cellphone video of his shooting later asked a police officer, “Is my friend alright?” as he was being detained in a cruiser.
That was one of the details made public Friday afternoon in documents released from the Grand Rapids Police Department stemming from a police officer shooting and killing Lyoya after an April 4 traffic stop.
