India Vs Pakistan Babar Azam Lashes Out At Fakhar Zaman On Rohit Sharma’s Shot

Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma is taking on Pakistan at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy in their opening match of the Asia Cup 2023. The Indian team won the toss and elected to bat first in the high-profile IND vs PAK match, and played with a combination of three seamers and two spinners. This is the first ODI between India and Pakistan since the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

    IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023: Babar Azam pissed off with Fakhar Zaman 

    The Indian cricket team came out to bat with openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill after winning the toss. Indian opener Rohit Sharma went off the mark with a boundary to Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi on the second ball of the match. The ball was on the pads of Rohit and he flicked it towards the midwicket region for a boundary. The ball was in the air for some time and went passed fielder Fakhar Zaman, who also missed a catch opportunity. Pakistani skipper Babar Azam didn’t look happy with Zaman’s effort and shouted at his fielder. 

    Team India in deep trouble after losing Rohit and Virat 

    Just after the play resumed after the rain break, the Indian cricket team lost skipper Rohit Sharma and batter Virat Kohli for scores of 11 and 4 runs respectively. Both the batters were cleaned up by Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. 

    Earlier in the match, India won the toss and opted to bat against Pakistan in their much-anticipated Asia Cup opener here on Saturday. Shreyas Iyer is back in the Indian middle-order after a long injury layoff and so is Jasprit Bumrah to lead the pace attack in the company of Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur.

    India are playing two spinners in Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. Pakistan have retained the playing XI that thrashed Nepal in the opening match of the tournament.
