Increasing clouds and warmer temps Thursday before Friday rain showers

Good Thursday #GoodThursday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Thursday morning.  We are kicking off the day with fair skies and some pretty chilly temperatures in the middle to upper 30s, some areas of patchy frost may be possible.

Today will start off mostly sunny with more clouds pushing in by the afternoon, highs temps will be well above average in the middle to upper 60s.  Increasing clouds are in the forecast tonight and that will keep things a bit warmer for Friday morning with lows starting in the low to middle 40s.  Cloud cover will thicken by Friday and light to moderate rain showers will move in from the west by the afternoon into the evening.  A few isolated rumbles of thunder are possible into Friday night with most of the scattered rainfall gone by daybreak Saturday.

Behind Friday’s cold front and rain showers, temperatures will be much colder for Saturday afternoon with highs only in the 40s with a gusty northwest breeze making things feel even colder.  A widespread hard freeze is forecast for Sunday morning with low temperatures in the middle to upper 20s!  Sunday will bring in more sunshine with temps remaining below average in the lower 50s.

Monday, President’s Day, should be partly to mostly cloudy with temps rebounding a bit topping out in the middle to upper 50s.  We will have a sunny and dry stretch of 60 degree day for most of next work week.
