Radio presenter Chris Moyles has been announced as one of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestants. The 48-year-old, who currently hosts a show on Radio X, joins the likes of Mike Tindall, Sue Cleaver and Boy George in the new series.
Perhaps best known for his work on BBC Radio 1, Moyles has said of joining the jungle: “If people are expecting what they hear on the radio, then they had better prepare themselves for a much quieter, sensitive Christopher Moyles. The radio version is a very turned up version of me, but hopefully if I can bring some humour to the camp, then it will make everyone in the camp feel at ease.”
But who will be rooting for the radio presenter at home, how did he completely change his appearance and how did Moyles’ relationship with the BBC come to an end? Here’s everything you need to know.

Who is he dating?
Chris Moyles has been in a relationship with Tiffany Austin since 2015. Originally from Beverley Hills, Tiffany has a successful career in artist management and she has worked with celebrities including Chris’ I’m A Celebrity campmate Boy George. During his Radio 1 days, Moyles dated TV producer Sophie Waite.

It’s not just Moyles’ love life that has had people talking, however, his weight has also been a topic of conversation in recent years. Speaking to Ross Kemp on his podcast The Kempcast, Moyles confessed that he suffers from body dysmorphia, despite having shrunk from 18 stone to 12 stone.

During the podcast, Moyles detailed his strict regime of weighing himself daily and barely eating all day Monday to Friday, before enjoying himself at the weekends. He said: “Before lockdown, Monday, Wednesday, Friday I would do the show we would have a quick meeting… and then I’d get to the gym and I’d train 11-12 or 11-1, depending on how fat I was feeling. I’m feeling really fat at the moment!
“I’m fascinated by body dysmorphia because I really have an issue with body dysmorphia, which I think most people do. I’ve lost six stone from my worst weight when I was 18 stone. I know my body really well now, and I’m still learning. I don’t have the metabolism of an 18-year-old girl or boy, I just don’t,” he told Kemp.
Why did he leave BBC Radio 1?
For most people, Moyles will be best known for his stint presenting on BBC Radio 1. In 2012, he sensationally quit the station after eight years working there. In 2015, he would return to radio and begin working for Radio X. In an interview with The Sun in 2020, he said: “Radio 1 is a conveyor belt, and at some time you will fall off it, because of age or not being relevant any more. The story goes I was too old for the show. I was 38 when they took us off. They recently hired some DJs who were that age. The show is yours for a while – it is like renting a house for a bit.”

Elaborating on his comments during the chat on Ross Kemp’s podcast, Moyles said: “I was a bit miffed that the story that went out was that I was too old and I had got fired. I knew I wasn’t going to be doing that show for ever. I thought they handled it really badly. Then when [Grimshaw’s] show failed and the listening figures fell, I was like, ‘Not that f-ing easy, is it boys?’ Not aimed at Nick but at Radio 1 in general. The show lost a million-and-a-half almost overnight. They didn’t get them back!” For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
