FORMER Premier League star Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock has lost seven stone after having gastric sleeve surgery in secret.

The I’m A Celebrity star confessed he has “cheated death” after ballooning up to 27st when his eating and drinking spiralled out of control.

Razor, 54, says he was inspired by Towie star James ‘Arg’ Argent who dropped 13st after meeting at a celebrity football match.

“I feared for my life,” Razor admitted to MailOnline.

“I know a lot of people will read this and say I’ve cheated, and I tell you what I did… I cheated death.

‘”The way I was going, who knows how long I could continue like that.”

Razor says he got “bigger and lazier” during Covid lockdowns as he binged on takeaways and had ice cream delivered from Co-op.

The dad-of-four says it was “fate” meeting Arg – and was inspired to take the same surgery route as the Towie star.

In fact, Razor was operated on by the same specialist clinic as Arg where doctors doctors removed two thirds of his stomach.

He can no longer overindulge and gets full up quicker.

Razor first suffered a health scare while filming an ITV show with Harry Redknapp in 2019, called  Harry’s Heroes: The Full English.

He was told he was at a risk of a heart attack and need to lose at least five stone.

His wife of ten years, glamour model Leah Newman, broke down in tears as she feared he would die young.

Former Liverpool ace Razor was recognised as one of the best defenders for England during his career.
