Ice Cube Reveals He’s ‘Never Charged Nobody Ever For A Feature’ — Here’s Why

Ice Cube appears to value relationships over almost everything.

On the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, hosted by Gillie Da King and Wallo, Ice Cube revealed he has never charged an artist for a feature.

The episode featured Hip-Hop heavyweights Ice Cube, Too Short, and E-40, who are also some of the members of the supergroup Mount Westmore.

E-40 said when he was coming up in the industry, he secured a feature from Ice Cube at no cost to his pockets. The kind gesture was done by other Hip-Hop legends like Tupac.

“Cube he did everything. No money. We just exchanged. It was just nothing but love,” E-40 said.

He continued: “He never charged me nothing — nothing. Tupac never charged me nothing. Too Short never charged me. None of the legends charged either man.”

E-40 added that not only did Ice Cube not charge for the feature, but the “It Was a Good Day” rapper also pulled up to do a video shoot for him back in the day as well.

For the greats, it appears that how they felt toward a person held more weight than the dollar signs.

“I’ve never charged nobody ever for a feature. Either I’m f-cking with you or I’m not,” Ice Cube said.

E-40 isn’t the only legendary rapper that is gracious with his features.

As AfroTech previously told you, Jay-Z also revealed he doesn’t charge a dime for a feature. To him, it is simply about having that relationship established before anything else.

“It’s mostly relationships. It’s actually always been mostly relationships,” Jay-Z said in an interview with Kevin Hart on his show, “Hart to Heart.” “Sometimes it’s talent and sometimes someone asks me to be on something. Pretty much every song that I’m on I’m asked to be on. I don’t ask people to be on their songs. I never charge.”
