‘I have punched the wall’, ‘Atrocious’ – Tottenham fans rage at Eric Dier display in 2-1 defeat to Wolves

Tottenham fans are incensed after Eric Dier’s “atrocious” performance against Wolves on Saturday afternoon (11 November).

The Englishman earned his first league start for Spurs since April and, despite a swathe of injuries and suspensions, helped his side to keep a clean sheet up until stoppage time.

A very quick turnaround from Gary O’Neil’s side saw Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina score in the closing minutes to sink Tottenham – their second consecutive Premier League defeat.

The 2-1 loss meant Spurs failed to climb back to the top of the table and has left fans worried after such an optimistic start to the season.

Dier was at the centre of the mass outrage from Tottenham fans, who took to social media to let the 29-year-old know how they felt.

This fan simply can’t understand why the club makes supporters watch Dier.

One supporter was so outraged that he took it out on his own wall.

One fan believed that Dier was typically “atrocious” and anticipates more struggles.

This fan has lost all hope in Dier after multiple Tottenham managers have failed to “fix” him.

One fan urged Ange Postecoglou to learn from Tottenham’s past mistakes and prevent them from being “spursy” again.

This supporter wants Dier axed in favour of 18-year-old Ashley Phillips.

One fan has predicted some “major” problems for Tottenham if Dier remains in the starting line-up and insists that another option is needed.

This fan blamed both of Spurs’ late goals on Dier and slated the state of the squad and hierarchy.
