These are the shocking scenes as a man is stabbed with a foot-long knife in London’s Hyde Park. 

Footage of the incident shows a number of young men carrying large blades, chasing the victim, knocking him to the ground and attacking him. 

One person can be heard shouting ‘there’s a knife, there’s a knife’. Several videos have been shared online showing panicked onlookers screaming in terror.  A comment on one video said ‘they bored him up’ – meaning the victim had been stabbed.

The incident happened at 9pm and the man was rushed to hospital where police are awaiting an update on his condition.  

It was the latest violent attack in London since Friday which has seen two people murdered and a police dog stabbed in the head in unrelated incidents. 

Officers are appealing for the public’s help in trying to identify the attackers. 

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: ‘Police were called at 21:00hrs on Tuesday 1 June to reports of an assault in Hyde Park.

‘Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. They found a male suffering from stab injuries.

‘He has been taken to hospital for treatment.’ 

The MPS Westminster Twitter account added: ‘Officers remain in Hyde Park following a stabbing earlier this evening.

‘At this early stage there have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.’ 

A later update said the man’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Earlier, a 23-year-old man was left fighting or his life after being stabbed in the face in Lewisham, south London. 

Police were approached by the victim at 7.38pm yesterday in Hither Green Lane. He was rushed to a south London hospital where his condition is described as ‘life-threatening’. 

Forensics officers have secured the scene in order to search for evidence. 

Scotland Yard confirmed no arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident. 

A Section 60 Order has been placed across Lewisham until 7am allowing police additional stop and search powers. 

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 with reference CAD 7106/1 June.

Tony Eastlake, 55, known as the ‘flower man of Islington’ was knifed to death shortly before 5.30pm on Saturday.  

Police said on Tuesday that a 20-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of his murder and that at this early stage, it is believed that the suspect was known to the victim. 

On Sunday night in Orpington Police Dog Kaiser was patrolling with his handler Pc Mark Woolcott when they are tasked with investigating reports of an intruder in the back of a house. 

According to Scotland Yard, while trying to subdue the man, Kaiser was stabbed up to five times on the top of his head and once below his eye. 

The man responsible for the attack has been detained under the mental health act. 

A police officer also suffered a broken wrist in the incident. 

Superintendent Emma Richards, from the Met’s Taskforce said: ‘The events of Sunday night are a reminder of the risks that our men, women and animals face on the frontline. We ask them to go towards danger and uncertainty on a daily basis in order to keep the public safe and I am proud that they do so with such commitment and bravery each and every time.’

In Edgware, north London ten males aged from their teens to early 20s have been arrested after a teenager was knifed to death in a north London park. 

Police are appealing for information after officers were called at 5.54pm on Bank Holiday Monday to Montrose Park, Edgware, following reports of a group of males fighting.

An 18-year-old male was found suffering from a stab injury in a tennis court area of the park.

He was treated by London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service at the scene but despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at 7.19pm.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be held on Thursday and while officers believe they know the identity of the deceased, efforts to inform his next of kin continue.  

The 10 males aged from their early teens to early 20s have been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of offences including affray and murder and are all being questioned in police custody.
