Hugh Jackman has set ‘strict dating rules’ his daughter Ava needs to follow now she’s heading into her last year of school, a family friend has said.

Wolverine actor Hugh, 54, shares Ava, 18, and son Oscar, 23, with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 67.

As Ava enters her last year of high school, the Hollywood star has laid down some strict rules for the teen that her parents have said the youngster must follow to ‘earn her father’s trust,’ according to a source.

‘There is a prom a year away, so even Hugh knows he can’t stop this,’ a family friend reportedly told Woman’s Day.

They said that The Greatest Showman actor is ‘struggling with the fact is baby girl is growing up,’ before saying the teen has a special relationship with her father.

‘Ava’s always been a daddy’s girl so she knows she has to go easy on him. As her mum wisely told her, “Trust is earned, so don’t screw it up,”‘ they continued.

‘I think I’m more open to being vulnerable with them, saying things like ‘I’m not sure’ or realizing that sometimes I may be preoccupied by something going on with me.’

The news follows Hugh’s celebrations over the news the biopsies on his nose coming back all clear, meaning he’s cancer-free.

The Logan actor had been urged by his doctor to get a few tests done after she noticed some ‘little things’ on his skin.

He has been treated several times before for basal cell carcinoma – the most common form of skin cancer. Thankfully Hugh announced he had received the all-clear after the scare, taking to social media to share the news.
