‘Huge credit’… Sky Sports pundit says Ibrahima Konate is making one Liverpool player look so much better

Virgil van Dijk has improved so much this season.
The Dutchman had a tricky campaign last time around as the Reds dropped out of the top four for the first time in a long time.
However, Van Dijk has been back to his best this season, and, of course, he deserves huge credit for his improvement as of late.
However, according to Stephen Warnock, speaking on Sky Sports News (2/3/23 2:40PM), there’s another player who has really helped Van Dijk this season.
Indeed, Warnock says that Ibrahima Konate’s presence this season has really helped Van Dijk, claiming that the Frenchman deserves huge credit for Van Dijk’s form this term.

Warnock shared his verdict on the two Liverpool defenders.
“His relationship with Konate at the back is phenomenal. There aren’t many players who will outrun either of them. Konate makes him a better player as well, we have to give Konate huge credit for Virgil’s form, but the man is a man-mountain, such a brilliant defender,” Warnock said.

Often a centre-back is only ever as good as their partner, and these two are both brilliant in their own rights.

Konate and Van Dijk complement each other so well. They both have incredible physical profiles as two of the fastest and strongest players in the league, while they’re both brilliant on the ball.
The incredible pace both players possess allows Liverpool to play their high line with ease, and this is certainly one of the best defensive pairings in the Premier League right now.
Van Dijk was one of the world’s best defenders before he ever even played with Konate, but it’s fair to say that he may be playing his best football right now alongside the Frenchman.
