Djokovic will look to make history on Sunday, as he will try to be the first man since Roger Federer to win four-straight Wimbledon titles. This will be his eighth final at the Grand Slam Final in London, coming in with a 6-1 record. Unlike last year’s championship run, the world No. 1 has looked vulnerable at some points, even going down 2-0 to Jannik Sinner during the quarterfinals, and certainly looking rattled in his semifinal clash with Cameron Norrie. Yet, he pulled through on both occasions, has put himself in line for a 21st major championship. In his illustrious career, Djokovic is going into his 32nd Grand Slam Final, winning 20 of his first 31 appearances.

It might not have happened the way he wanted it to, but for the first time in his career, Nick Kyrgios is going to play for a Grand Slam title. The guy that came into Wimbledon having not made it past the Round of 16 at a major in over seven years has looked like his younger self over the past couple of weeks. He has had to take down some tough competition, including beating potential second-week favorite, fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas, in four sets in the third round. After a rather dominating performance against Cristian Garin in the quarterfinals, Kyrgios was set to face Rafael Nadal. However, Kyrgios walked over to the final after Nadal was forced to pull out due to an abdominal tear.

This will be the first time in five years these two will meet, as Djokovic and Kyrgios have taken to the same court since the Aussie defeated Djokovic at the 2017 Indian Wells Masters. In both their previous encounters, Kyrgios has come out on top, in straight-sets.
