Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert’s multiverse fable Everything Everywhere All At Once is probably the film that all of your friends have urged you to watch…and that none of them have been able to describe. The inventive mind-melt of a movie is set to be the darling of the awards season, but both its plot and the feelings it invokes in die-hard fans are difficult to put into words.

The critical darling follows the Wong family: Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), the overworked, no-nonsense mom who’s struggling to file her taxes; Waymond (Ke Huy Kwan), the sweet, unassuming dad; and Joy (Stephanie Hsu), the daughter whose struggling to connect with her mom. Evelyn’s life takes a strong left turn when a version of Waymond from another universe teaches her how to travel between dimensions, saying that only she can save the world from a familiar threat. That’s all we can give away, to allow the movie to make you laugh, sob, and have a mini existential crisis all on its own.

This year’s awards season is filled with excellent films, but EEAAO is the can’t miss of the season. To experience it yourself, see how to watch the beloved movie below.
