VERNON Kay has proved he will do anything for charity, after he put his trainers on and started running for four days.

The Radio 2 presenter has completed his ultramarathon for the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.

Vernon Kay took on his ultramarathon to tie in with the Children in Need appeal day.

Even though he has now finished the race, fans can continue to sponsor Vernon and donate to Children In Need.

The kind-hearted star didn’t stop running for four days.

You can support Vernon by donating on the Children In Need website.

On there, you get the option of pledging £10, £20, or £30.

If you can’t afford that, or would like to donate more, there is an option to pledge your own amount.

There is also the option for people to donate to the cause via text.

Simply text the amount you’d like to donate to 70710.

So, for example, to donate £10, text TEN to 70710.

Texts will cost the amount you donate, plus your standard message charge.

You must be 16 and over, and have the bill payer’s permission.

How much has Vernon Kay raised for Children in Need?’

On November 17, 2023, the kind-hearted star had raised a whopping £3M.

However, just before he completed the run at 10.12am, this had gone up to £4M.

Speaking after the run, Vernon said: “I’m absolutely exhausted, absolutely spent.

“Physically, mentally, there’s nothing in the tank. Is there anyone here who can replace a knee?

“It’s been one of the most painful and joyous experiences I’ve ever had. We’ve met some brilliant people who’ve donated all they can.

“Just one foot in front of the other, that’s what it was.

“And we had a great team pushing me along, motivating me. Thanks to the gang.”

How far was Vernon Kay’s ultramarathon challenge?

Vernon kicked off his ultramarathon for the BBC’s Children in Need at 9am on November 14, 2023.

The challenge started in Victoria Park in Leicester, and will end in his hometown of Bolton, and would’ve covered a 115 mile stretch.

He complete the ultramarathon TODAY (November 17, 2023) at his beloved Bolton Wanderers’ football stadium – in total running for four days.

It was an emotional time for Vernon, who previously revealed that he was “struggling with pain during his ultramarathon.

Speaking to his Radio 2 listeners he said: “The left leg’s been alright it’s the right leg that has been playing up.”

How much did Scott Mills raise in the Treadmill Challenge?

In November 2023, Scott Mills raised a whopping £1,000,365 for Children In Need after completing a gruelling treadmill challenge.

The Radio 2 DJ walked, jogged and ran for 24 hours – even recreating his infamous Strictly Come Dancing “crab dance”.

When he found out he’d raised over £1M, he told his listeners: “I’m in shellshock right now.

“I can’t get my head around it.”

Referring to the cost of living crisis, Scott added: “I didn’t expect it to be this much money because of how things are at the moment.

“For that money, I would do it all over again. You are amazing.”

Is Vernon Kay married and how many children does he have?

Vernon is married to fellow presenter, and Strictly Come Dancing host, Tess Daly.

They met in 2001, when he was hosting T4, and they wed in 2003 in Horwich, near Vernon’s native Bolton.

They even presented BBC singing competition Just The Two Of Us together from 2006 to 2007.

The couple have two children together.

Their first child, Phoebe, was born in 2004, followed by Amber in 2009.
