In my book, the Golden State Warriors are passing an important offseason with flying colors.
Sure, they took some risks on draft night. They haven’t signed a monster in free agency due to having little wiggle room under the salary cap. They haven’t made any trades of note, and owner Joe Lacob said a blockbuster would be “very unlikely.”
Yet the signings of free agents Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica go a long way towards filling starkly apparent gaps on the Warriors’ roster. Golden State fell short last season primarily due to a lack of depth and shooting around Stephen Curry, and the two most recent additions to the roster provide instant, cheap help and should fit perfectly into the Dubs’ scheme.
So with that said, here’s a primer on Porter Jr. and Bjelica for Warriors fans and what they can bring.
