How Damian Lillard’s mindset on the court is the same as Dame D.O.L.L.A in the booth
Dame #Dame
Different On Levels the Lord Allowed.
This is what D.O.L.L.A., as in Dame D.O.L.L.A., stands for.
Many know Damian Lillard as a 5x NBA All-Star, one of the best shooters in the game, franchise destroyer, Adidas athlete and a Rip City legend. Many also know that he is a rapper off the court.
If you are Shaquille O’Neal or Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III, you are very familiar with Dame D.O.L.L.A.’s work.
Lillard joined host Carmelo Anthony on the latest What’s In Your Glass weekly YouTube series.

What’s the difference between Dame and D.O.L.L.A.? Not much.
D.O.L.L.A is like me in every form of myself. The reason I came up with that name is because I recognize the difference in me from a lot of people that are my peers or a lot of people who are in position that I’m in.
Different On Levels the Lord Allowed is super necessary because I didn’t make me this way. I didn’t give myself like the environment I grew up in and the parents that I have… this was written for me. And a lot of people don’t have that… I recognize what I have and all of the things I just mentioned and I would say like maybe 5-6 years ago, I started embracing it.
Can’t nobody take your confidence in yourself away when you’re doing everything in your power to be the best version of yourself. – Damian Lillard
Lillard stepping into the league with the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Just a kid from Oakland, California who made headlines at Weber State. He’s got that winning mentality, which he learned early on in his childhood, that has resulted in the Dame Time Rip City and the rest of the NBA knows today.
But this mentality doesn’t just stop once Lillard lives the court.
I can’t just jump into the rap game without following the rules of the rap game… I had to be a student of that just like I had to be a student of hoop when I came into the league… It’s the same. Being a student of it and having respect for whatever the game is that you in and working at it. – Damian Lillard
Oh, and an artist he’d love to colab with? That would be Drake.
Everything Drake touches is outta here. – Dame wanting to work with Drake.
D.O.L.L.A. has dropped three albums and plenty of singles, including the newest releases GOAT Spirit and Home Team, which you can listen to on Spotify.
