Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable 3-1 win over rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Mikel Arteta’s side took the lead through a fantastic strike from Thomas Partey before Harry Kane pulled one back for Spurs from the penalty spot.

The Gunners came out of the interval looking sharp and regained the lead through Gabriel Jesus after a horrible mistake from Hugo Lloris.

Emerson Royal was then sent off for Spurs after what was a late challenge on Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal then kicked on and doubled their lead through a fine finish from Granit Xhaka. Arteta’s side then cruised to victory and Spurs appeared to give up.

FT: Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham

Well, that’s a mighty impressive victory for Arsenal over their rivals, Tottenham. They also take a four-point lead at the top of the table with second-place Manchester City set to take on Manchester United tomorrow. Mikel Arteta’s side truly dominated this afternoon and Antonio Conte’s Spurs couldn’t get near the Gunners.

They’ve been the better side from minute one and this game is as good as over. Tottenham look down and out and Arsenal are walking around the pitch with the ball.

GOAL! Xhaka doubles Spurs’ lead

67′ Arsenal 3-1 Spurs

He has been in some goal-scoring form this season and he does it again today! Xhaka tucks it past Lloris with ease and that should be that! Arsenal are cruising at the top of the Premier League table.

Spurs are down to 10 men!

61′ Arsenal 2-1 Spurs

Emerson Royal has been sent off for a challenge on Martinelli. I’m not too sure about that one if I’m honest, it looks like a harsh decision on the Spurs defender.

THAT DIDN’T TAKE LONG!

Gabriel Jesus gives the Gunners the lead! Just four minutes into the second half and Jesus pokes it through Lloris to give Arsenal the lead. It’s a horrific mistake from the Spurs goalkeeper.

HT: It’s all level at the break

Arsenal 1-1 Spurs

What an opening 45 minutes of action that was in the North London derby! Arsenal will feel as though they should be ahead at the break after all the chances they had early on. Spurs grew into the match and one Son counter-attack caused all sorts of problems for Arsenal’s defence that led to the penalty where Kane drew his side level. It’s anybody’s game in the second half and both managers will have to think about how they approach the next 45 minutes.

Another record for Kane!

He also extends his lead for the most goals scored in a North London derby.

GOAL! 1-1!

31′ Arsenal 1-1 Spurs

Kane clips it down the middle and gets his team right back in it. A huge goal for Spurs which has come out of nowhere!

PENALTY TO SPURS!

29′ Arsenal 1-0 Spurs

It’s a fantastic counter-attack from Spurs and Gabriel brings down Richarlison in the box.
