HOLYOKE – The Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade Committee named Jennifer Voyik-Morrison the Daniel J. Gallivan Award recipient for 2023.

The award honors a longstanding committee member and non-Holyoke resident who contributed to the parade and association’s successes.

The parade committee made the announcement Tuesday at the Holyoke Lodge of Elks. Gallivan was a longtime committee member and South Hadley resident.

“I am very happy for Jenn. She is very deserving of this recognition as she works very hard for this committee,” said Karen Casey, parade committee president. “I look forward to sharing the upcoming season with Jenn and her family.”

Voyik-Morrison, the 50th recipient of the award, joined the organization in 2012. She served on the Music and Road Race committees. She was appointed the committee’s deputy chief of staff and chairs the board of directors.

“Jenn is a hard-working member of the committee and is always willing to lend a hand where needed,” the parade committee’s announcement read.

Voyik-Morrison, who lives in East Longmeadow, is the South Hadley Public Schools’ assistant superintendent. “It is a great honor. My husband joined the parade committee, and I was coming to all the events and meetings,” she said. “I like to volunteer and get involved in the community.”

Growing up in Holyoke, Voyik-Morrison watched the parade yearly outside Blessed Sacrament Church on Northampton Street. She recently joined the Parade Coordination Committee, the group tasked with getting marchers down the over 2-mile parade route on time.

Besides the hours Voyik-Morrison puts in with the parade committee, she works with several organizations in East Longmeadow.

She and her husband, Joseph Morrison, are parents to sons Daniel and Patrick Morrison and daughter Kelsea Voyik. She attended Holyoke Public Schools, Cathedral High School in Springfield and Western New England University, where she earned a degree in business administration.

Voyik-Morrison and fellow recipients will be honored at the Holyoke Grand Colleen Coronation Ball and awards night on Feb. 18 at the Log Cabin Banquet & Meeting House. For more details and ticket information, email Kim Izquierdo (kimberlyperry126@gmail.com) or Brynn Gillis (brynnfeyre@yahoo.com).
