A major shopping centre in Melbourne’s northwest will become an exposure site after a man with COVID visited a number of stores.
On Wednesday, Testing Commander Jeroen Weimar revealed there were seven new cases recorded including six linked to the locked down apartments and one linked to the family in the Hume area.
A man in his 60s is one of the positive cases in the apartments and visited a number of stores at Highpoint Shopping Centre on Friday July 9 between 10am and 2pm.
“We know he went to a number of retail stores,” Weimar said.
“The team is working through CCTV vision and the QR code system.”
A full list of the exact times and stores will be added to the health department website later on Wednesday.
As of 1.30pm on Wednesday there were four sites linked to Highpoint Shopping Centre.
Other Tier 1 sites were also added to the exposure site list on Wednesday afternoon.
These are ALDI in Maribyrnong on Edgewater Boulevard on July 9 between 5.30pm and 6.10pm and Highpoint Kinder Haven in Maribyrnong on July 12 between 9.15am and 5pm.
The case also went to Vanilla Lounge in Eaton Mall in Oakleigh on July 9 between 2.45pm and 4.30pm and Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre on July 10 between 10am and 11.30am.
The Young and Jackson on Swanston Street is also a Tier 1 site for July 10 between 2.40pm and 4.10pm.
