Hiemal Hump Day, Temperatures & Rain Chances Recover Into Weekend
Hump Day #HumpDay
Shower opportunities carry throughout the weekend, but the best chances for meaningful rainfall lie on Saturday.
Happy Hump Day! To say it’s frigid outside is an understatement – the Charlotte Metro is waking up to its coldest morning since mid-January. Plentiful sunshine will allow temperatures to rebound into the 30s, 40s, and lower 50s this afternoon. Highs will go into recovery mode toward the back half of the week into the weekend as winds shift out of the south and west. Our next rainmaking system is currently developing east of the Rockies. Significant rain chances reach the Carolinas by Friday evening and last throughout the weekend, but the best opportunity for meaningful rainfall appears to lie on Saturday. Most locations in our area can expect at least a half-inch of rain to fall through Monday morning.
Despite the rain on the way, highs should top out above normal in the 50s and 60s this weekend. Drier air builds back in by Monday night as temperatures return to near-average values. The first workweek of December is looking mainly dry with variable clouds.
