After missing out on the last two windows of World Cup qualifying due to a COVID-related heart issue, former Vancouver Whitecaps FC homegrown Alphonso Davies scored from the spot in the 27th minute for the Canadian men’s national team to put them up 1-0 against Curacao in their Concacaf Nations League opener at BC Place in Vancouver.

The Bayern Munich star showed off his foot skills, beating the Caribbean defender in the box before drawing the penalty kick. He waved off his teammate Cyle Larin before slotting home the PK past Room.
