Here We Go: Manchester United deal for Varane almost done; Juventus plan to keep Ronaldo and Dybala; and more

Varane #Varane

As clubs return for preseason and the work of preparing for the next year begins in earnest, the transfer market is heating up with big names coming and going. Welcome to this week’s Here We Go transfer notebook. Let’s dive right in:

United closing in on Varane

Raphael Varane is an important target and Manchester United are currently working on acquiring him. The team and player have reached an agreement on personal terms while United and Madrid are coming closer on agreeing a transfer, with an official bid from United expected to be accepted in the coming days. But Varane will be respectful with Real Madrid because he does not want to break his relationship with the club and the president Florentino Perez. Manchester United is his desire though, and there are no other clubs involved in the negotiation for the future of Varane, neither Paris Saint-Germain nor Tottenham despite rumors. For now, the contacts with Real Madrid will continue as Manchester United seek to reach and complete the agreement for Varane.

No PSG offer for Pogba…..yet

Meanwhile, the hope of the club is to be able to keep Paul Pogba. The interest of Paris Saint-Germain is real but from Manchester United the position is clear, no official offer received and an ongoing negotiation to offer Pogba a new contract. Regardless of whether or not the new deal is signed, United are hoping and fighting to keep Pogba at the club this summer.

Manchester City still waiting to make second Kane bid

Manchester City have not yet made a new offer for Harry Kane. Rumors of a 160 million bid have also been denied by Tottenham, with Daniel Levy bent on holding Kane back and resisting any temptation. Manchester City are waiting for a direct dialogue between Kane and Tottenham to decide whether to make a new offer or aim for other targets such as Jack Grealish. The first and only official proposal City made to sign Kane was a month ago for £100 million was rejected by Spurs.

Juventus aim to keep Ronaldo and Dybala

Juventus, finally, are working to keep their stars. Vice President Pavel Nedved has announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at Juventus and will not leave. No offers have arrived for the Portuguese star this summer, and his contract is valid until June 2022 for €31 million so it will be difficult for him to leave Juventus even if he would want to. The forecast is for him to stay. As for Paulo Dybala, despite the rumors, he is not part of any exchange with Antoine Griezmann with Juventus and Barcelona denying this possibility.

Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun will be in Europe this week, specifically in Italy, to begin negotiations with Juventus on a new contract: the current agreement is due to expire in 2022. That’s why there is a rush but Juventus are optimistic because they wants to keep Dybala and not lose him.
