Hemsworths pictured leaving on private jet after day trip from Byron Bay to Sydney

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are splitting their time between Byron Bay and Sydney – hiring a private jet to flit between the two bases over the weekend.

The Hollywood power couple are both filming new movies in Sydney, with their three children attending school in the city.

But they’re committed to travelling back to their $30 million Byron Bay home as often as they can, having been snapped doing so this past weekend to spend a day in their beachside paradise.

The couple and their kids, eight-year-old India Rose and twins Tristan and Sasha, 7, were pictured disembarking a private jet after the 1.5 hour flight from Byron to Sydney on Sunday. They flew out via private jet for the beach escape on Saturday, the Daily Mail reported.

The superstar pair were spotted taking a similar private jet trip back in February, around the time Hemsworth first started working on the latest Thor film.

It was a big weekend for Hemsworth, who spent Friday night watching the NRL match between the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs with a cluster of famous faces.

Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Natalie Portman and Taika Waititi were all snapped watching on from Russell Crowe’s box at Stadium Australia, barracking for the Bunnies in the Sydney derby.

Hemsworth was also seen going behind the scenes inside the Rabbitohs’ dressing rooms after the game, joining in with the celebrations.

Hemsworth and Pataky have become a celebrity attraction of Byron Bay over the past few years, but they’ve temporarily swapped the popular beach spot for the hustle and bustle of Sydney.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald earlier this month, Pataky revealed the biggest downside of the city change.

“I can’t dress down as much as I do in Byron Bay, (but) we hope to get back there on the weekends,” she told the publication.

Pataky and her Thor actor husband are working on films at Sydney’s Fox Studios, with Pataky shooting Netflix film Interceptor (with Hemsworth as the film’s executive producer) and Hemsworth continues work on Thor: Love And Thunder.

“Byron has been beautiful,” she said of the family’s life in Broken Head, where they live in a lavish mega-mansion.

“We made the right decision in 2014 to leave LA and come to Australia. It’s been great for the kids to be in nature, enjoy animals and go horse riding.”

Pataky, 44, and Hemsworth, 37, led the charge of stars descending on Byron Bay from LA, with the former Home And Away actor later saying he felt “suffocated” by his career while based in the epicentre of showbiz.

“You’re a little bit too much in the eye of the storm when you’re living in Hollywood,” he told GQ last year of the move.
