Heckler arrested after calling Prince Andrew ‘sick old man’ in Edinburgh

A man was arrested Monday after heckling Britain’s Prince Andrew during a royal procession in Edinburgh, Scotland, for the prince’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“Andrew, you’re a sick old man,” the man yelled to the prince before being tackled and detained by police, according to video footage on social media.

The incident occurred while Andrew, Queen Elizabeth II’s second son, accompanied members of the royal family in the procession of the queen’s coffin from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St. Giles’ Cathedral, where the queen will lie until Tuesday.

“A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile at around 2.50pm today,” Police Scotland confirmed in a statement to Sky News.

Monday’s incident is the third time a person was arrested after “breaching the peace” this week. A woman was arrested during Sunday’s Accession Proclamation for the king in Edinburgh. The woman was photographed with an anti-monarchy sign outside the cathedral. A 74-year-old man was also arrested on the same charge Sunday, according to the outlet.

Andrew, the Duke of York, has faced backlash after his relationship with convicted human trafficker and sex offender Epstein gained traction last year. Andrew has been the focus of a lawsuit that alleged he also sexually assaulted a minor, but a settlement was reached earlier this year without Andrew admitting wrongdoing.

The prince, who is no longer a working member of the royal family, has been allowed to attend the royal festivities during the country’s national period of mourning.
