The 14-year-old – a huge fan of Jota – was wearing a signed Hoops top and couldn’t help smiling as his hero revealed the good news online after he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in February this year.

The clip was shared on social media by his uncle Geo, an artist who is known for his Celtic-themed art works.

The 14-year-old, who has undergone four rounds of chemotherapy, shared the announcement on Instagram on Thursday.

In the clip, Jota says: “Congratulations to Ryan, now he is cancer free, and now he has an amazing life ahead of him.”

His uncle wrote on Instagram: “What better way to announce that you are cancer free!

“Massive thanks to his hero Jota!

“And a massive thank you to everyone who helped him on his journey!

“More stuff to follow, but I’m away to have a few drinks!

“Much love from The Thomson family 💚🍀”

Meanwhile Moritz Jenz doesn’t see why Celtic shouldn’t aim to topple Champions League holders Real Madrid — and WIN their group.

The Hoops landed 14-time winners Real, Germans RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine in the group-stage draw.

“It’s amazing to play against the reigning champions. We’re looking forward to playing against them and it will be a fantastic evening here at Celtic Park.

“I can’t wait to hear the Champions League anthem and the roar before the games.

“There’s no sense of fear with us. There’s a sense of excitement.”
