Dan James has been full of praise for Archie Gray after his breakthrough season at Leeds United.
The young midfielder has been unbelievable for Leeds this season. He’s played out of position at right-back at times, and he looks to be wise beyond his years.
At the age of just 17, this young man has the brightest of futures ahead of him, and speaking on the Official EFL Podcast, James has been full of praise for the young star.
James says that Gray actually reminds him of Aaron Ramsey at times, claiming that he also has an unbelievable engine and can run all day.

James spoke about the teenager and his ability.
“Yeah definitely, obviously I had my first experience of Archie when he was 15 or 16 and I thought what a player. His movement off the ball reminded me of how Ramsey was off the ball, those runs in behind, he can run all day, he’s strong. I’ve come back this year and he’s matured, he’s very child-like, but that helps him because he has no fear, he’s brilliant and it’s nice to play with him and nurture him. He’s been absolutely brilliant and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was Team of the Year in a position that he’s only played this year in his life,” James said.
Incredible
It’s hard to put into words just how brilliant Gray is for his age.
At the age of just 17, Gray probably shouldn’t even be playing U21 football yet, but here he is shining at senior level under a massive amount of pressure for one of the biggest clubs in the country.
Gray just has that something special about him at such a young age, and the fact that he’s been able to shine while playing in such an unnatural position is truly incredible.
This young man is going to be a star of the future, that’s for sure.
