Harry Styles supposedly did his first shoey in Perth in front of 30,000 wide-eyed watchers.
The British hitmaker and former One Direction member launched the Australian leg of his Love on Tour world tour at HBF Park on Monday night.
During a break between songs, Styles asked audience members to show him their handmade signs.

He singled out a man named Scott, who had been “dragged” from Sydney by his wife, and asked if he had ever done a shoey.
When Scott replied he had, Styles promised to get him a drink later to perform the act and he made good on the pledge later in the evening.
“It’s been a dream of mine,” the singer said as he handed Scott the cup.
“Pour it in there, there it goes.”

The man downed the drink from his shoe while his image was shown across the giant screens.
Then to the crowd’s delight, Styles decided he wanted to partake in the Aussie ritual too, and poured water from a drink bottle into his own sneaker.
“This is one of the most disgusting traditions I’ve ever heard of,” he said, then put the shoe to his mouth and drank.
Looking queasy, Styles then sighed into mic in mock disgust.
“I feel like a different person, I feel ashamed of myself,” he said with a laugh.
“It feels so personal, such an intimate moment to be shared with so many people.
“I’ll be discussing this with my therapist at length.”
Styles paid tribute to another beacon of Australian culture when he sang a rendition of Daryl Braithwaite’s power ballad Horses during the encore.
The 29-year-old has previously said he is a big fan of the tune and sampled it the last time he performed in Australia 2018, but it was a shock to fans that he included it in his set list.
Styles continues Love on Tour in Australia until a final show in Sydney on March 4.
